SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
You must be a current undergraduate at a two- or four-year institution, or--if unaffiliated with a college--you must be between the ages of 18-22 at the time you send your work. We do not currently consider work by students at Hamline University.
Runestone considers previously unpublished/unscreened works of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, or digital storytelling by undergraduate writers.
Submit work between April 1 – October 1.
Your work should include a cover letter, in which you should verify that you are an undergraduate and include the name of your college or university, your field of study, and your year (sophomore, junior, etc.). Include the name(s) and genre of the piece(s) you’re submitting, as well as a mailing address, phone number, and an e-mail address.

DIGITAL STORYTELLING
The foundational elements of effective digital storytelling address and manipulate audience, purpose, audio, visual, and technology. Loosely interpreted, digital storytelling includes but is not restricted to short film or audio art (documentary, animation, spoken word, audio essay, sound composition, interactive/hyperlinked story, narrative video game, etc.)
GENERAL SUBMISSION RULES:
- Submission should be an original/unscreened short film or audio art (see above definition for broader interpretation).
- Must be under 5 mins in length
- Must be submitted in .MOV, .WAV, .MP3, or AIFF format files.
- Include a cover letter as defined above.
SUBMISSIONS OPEN APRIL 1-OCT. 1
Submitting artists will be notified by or around Dec. 1 regarding status of the submission.
